This blog is the second in a series about appearance and how best to present your current self so you might make the best impression. My first in the series was about body issues, and we all have them.
As a "Personal Shopper/Stylist" it is my mission to help you achieve a look that speaks to both who you are, as well as helping you project the best possible image.
In doing so we first must determine what size(s), yes, size(s) fit you best. Because as I mentioned in my first blog "What issue do you have with my Body" the Fashion Industry trys their best to keep us confused. It almost seems at times they want us to feel guilty about who we are by cutting clothes with the smallest amount of fabric they possibly can. This is why I told you in my first blog, to always opt for Designer labels, they tend to be cut more generously and therefore you'll always wear a smaller size.
There are currently labels that have even gone so far as to design, "curvy fit" jeans . You will also find there are now all different types of rises in both jeans and slacks, for a more flattering and comfortable fit. Try these basic questions below to determine what really works best on you.
Here they are: Am I a Junior or a Missy? Do I have a long or short torso? Do I have longer limbs or shorter limbs? Do I have a long waist and shorter legs? Do I have longer legs and a shorter torso? Am I pear shaped, apple shaped, am I boy shaped?
I will however give you a hard answer to the first question you should ask youself: "Where should I be shopping?" Whether you buy into it or not is up to you. For the most part if you are over the age of 30, you really should not be wearing any Junior sizes. They are cut differently and really are too young for you. Therefore shopping in the Juniors Department should be a "no" for you. Head over to the "Misses" department, you will find similar, hip, but more age appropriate clothing designed especially with you in mind.
Happy shopping trails, and if you are one who hates shopping I'd love to help you with it, it is both my joy and desire. Thanks...
As I always say, "Be present in your own presence." Thanks...
