Greetings, everyone:  If you know of a business who is looking to raise some money, please pass this message to them about our upcoming Local Money Meet-Up event on April 19^th, 3:30-6:30 pm, at the Steam Plant Square.

This event is intended to provide a setting where people who’d like to invest some of their money locally can meet local business owners who are looking for money.  “Pre-existing relationships” are required between investor and business for this type of investing.  We are not recommending that anyone invest in anything.  We’re merely providing the setting where interested parties can begin those relationships.  Everyone is responsible for doing their own due diligence.

The business should have their act fairly well together: strong business plan, know how much money they need to raise and what they’d use it for, know whether they’re looking for loans or equity investors, etc.  Sustainable Resources’ local investing committee (now called the Local Money Council) will coach the business before the event so they deliver well during their short presentation at the Meet-Up.

We already have a list of businesses lined up to present at this event, so at this point we’re just looking for 1-2 more businesses.  Interested businesses should contact John Dill, our committee chair, john@dill.cc, by next Wed., Feb. 15.
