Candidate Coaching and Prescreening ~ Phone attitude

As a recruiter i call hundreds of applicants a month to try to set up interviews.  As a job seeker you need to "turn on" your good attitude and smile when you talk on the phone.  Anyone out there remember that rule, "Smile when you are on the phone".  If I have a not so great phone conversation with a candidate i make note of it and take that into consideration before making a decision.

Sometimes i change my mind mid call and don't bring that person in for an interview.  Things to consider besides just smiling.  Letting the recruiter have the control, stop whatever you are doing so that you can take notes (asking me to email you the info is not ok), eliminate background noise, and of course be flexible.  "i can't come in for an interview on Friday I am heading to the beach", not a great reason to not schedule an interview.

Is there a job search topic you would like me to cover?
