I would like to share some facts about the importance of supporting startups and small business in our region:
- In December 2011 Forbes Magazine ranked 100 US Metro Areas for Job Growth in 2012 and Spokane was ranked in last place along with Fresno, CA. (Unlike)
- Small business (50 employees or less) creates 70% of new jobs.
- According to the Kauffman Foundation, startups create most of the jobs in our economy.
