Dialogues with the City of Spokane

Through a recent partnership with the City of Spokane, via the Launch Spokane Program, our team has had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know several representatives from various departments at the City. We are noticing a sincere commitment to improve services and work with the local business community.

As a way to help develop a better understanding of how programs work at the City, and to help foster new business relationships, we are kicking off a series of online…

Women's Resource Partnership ~ Networking

Networking, what is best for you?  There are lots of options out there. (I know or have visited most of what is  out there, ask me if you need some help, i will be happy to)  First the decision has to be yours alone, you have to decide if you and the group are a good fit.  You can get recommendations but visit, attend, ask questions and decide before you make a comittment.

Some networking opportunities don't involve a membership and sometimes that works best for you.  Sometimes the…

Volunteer

I have graduated with an associates degree in criminal justice with a 3.95 gpa.  I am currently working on my BA and would like to find an attorney in the Spokane area who does family law.  I would love to volunteer so that I can learn how to help families navigate the court system.  The biggest area of interest is with child protective services.  If anyone has any suggestions then please let me know.  I am on the board of directors of a non profit and I do a lot of advocating but there is…

Isn't Mediation Really Just Giving In?

Here you can bring your WHOLE STORY and have more than 10 minutes to tell it.  Better yet, bring your attorney and let them help you say it right.  But in the end- YOU DECIDED.

Women's Resource Partnership ~ Women Connecting with Women

I want to be clear that I do not have an issue with men or doing business with men.  I just think that women connecting with, making friends with, and help other women is just plain needed.

AND I am talk about women of all walks of life, at any age.  Not just business women, we tend to be able to do that a little easier because we are out and about at events and networking meetings.

Jump back 8 1/2 years ago to when I had my daughter Jaiden.  I was able to stay home with her…

Women's Health - Finding Our Balance

Women’s breast health… Finding our balance

There is a delicate balance women must make when it comes to breast health. It really is quite simple. As women grow older their bodies begin to lose their ability to produce the very hormones needed for a happy and successful life. As women enter the menopausal years, they face a difficult decision. Their bodies’ production of estrogen, progesterone, and other hormones needed to maintain youthful vitality rapidly declines. These…

Presesenting one's self is a matter of Making good Choices...

This blog is the second in a series about appearance and how best to present your current self so you might make the best impression. My first in the series was about body issues, and we all have them.

As a "Personal Shopper/Stylist" it is my mission to help you achieve a look that speaks to both who you are, as well as helping you project the best possible image.

In doing so we first must determine what size(s), yes, size(s) fit you best. Because as I mentioned in my first blog…

Diana Carpenter - Time to get caught up!

Summer totally kicked my butt!  Don't get me wrong I got alot done but feel like I could have done so much more.

In June I spent 3 weeks very sick but had fun staying home and hanging out with the girls.

The last week of June I was in a car accident and spent the next three weeks try to not hurt and I didn't have a car to get around anyway.  Again, lots of home time that I enjoyed.

August came and went so fast my head is spinning.

Here is what I am…

Slow Down to Get More Work Done

Never mistake activity for achievement.”

That’s the quote attached to the instant message profile of Imprezzio’s CEO Dave Talarico. I did some research and discovered the quote can be attributed to legendary basketball coach John Wooden. It resonates with me because, like many women, I have a tendency to multitask. As a working wife, recreational artist, “mom” to a herd of domestic animals and diabetic, I just have so much to do!

When I get home, I put in some laundry and start…

Pet Urine: Avoid Punishment With Your Animal

Never use physical force or yelling if your pet urinates in the house. Brute force won't solve anything. It will only cause your pet more stress. Your animal should not be afraid of you, use soft tones when speaking to your pet. Yelling is going to create disrespect with your animal, and as a human child, your animal will likely wish to use the house as a litter box.…

Non-Disclosure Agreements and Investors

This post is a follow-up to the Protecting Your Business Idea post.

Many people who have a great new business idea often times don’t have the money to get their idea up and running.  Investors can sometimes be a good source of funding, however you have to provide them with convincing reasons why your idea is going to succeed and is worthy of their investment.

When speaking with these investors you will likely have to tell them about your product…
