Candidate Coaching and Prescreening ~ Options

When I am siting down with a candidate for an interview or a one on one coaching session I hear alot of different things.  One thing i hear alot is i don't know what I want to do.  Another is that they are thinking about starting a business.  Of course I talk with people all the time that need job search advice.

I decided that people need options, well duh.  Really they need to be educated about their options so that they can make an educated decision about their…

Cross Border Fraud: How Bad Is It?

The Internet can be a wonderful tool. In the wrong hands, it can also facilitate scams reaching across national boundaries: Pyramid schemes, advance-fee loan scams, bogus foreign lotteries or sweepstakes, and phony mail-order brides.

In my office days at the BBB, I received dozens of reports of such scams. While the BBB does record and share this information and provide options to callers, you also need to report scammers to the Federal Trade Commission.

When you file an FTC…

Showcasing Spokane's Local And Not So Local Fine Artists : Presenting Kathleen Cavender

Each week we will be showcasing some of our finest local artists. These are what are considered the famous amongst us, the top most recognized artists in Spokane.  The artists who have spent the last 30 or so years developing their signature artworks that are collected all over the United States. Unlike those that blow their horns ablaze with self adulation, visible only because of their bravado, these artists perform their art-craft steadily and faithfully without…

Spokane Civic Theatre gets a new sound booth

If you've ever been to a local production, especially a musical (and I'd like to assume you are all out there supporting the arts???), you might notice sound issues. At Civic, much of that had to do with our sound booth being located behind a wall above the audience. This summer, we updated said sound booth and are ready to kick off the next season in style and with great sound!

When it Comes to Theatre Sound is King

Sound Engineers Rejoice!

Chris Wooley, who runs sound…

Time and Space

In a weekly phone meeting with my dearest friends, this last week we talked about the chapter Waste No Time in Sonia Choquette’s book Soul Lessons and Soul Purpose.

What I realized is I have been busier than I would have liked the last few years and I am like a mother bear protecting her cub around my time. She says if you “squander your time” basically you hold yourself back and others too!

I loved that she said, “do not waste other people’s time either. It is emotionally…

Real Estate- Spokane Commercial Photography

There are a lot of nice homes on the market right now! Up at the top end, though, it's still a good opportunity for those who want to move up a notch or two in the home market.

Here is a home on Broken Lance south of Liberty Lake that I shot through …

Get More Money Now

This is the name of a pamphlet published by the BBB some years ago in partnership with the FINRA Investor Education Foundation. It is still helpful today. Who couldn't use more money, right?

The sad truth is that many of us were not well-educated about how to use money…if we were educated at all. I remember a class in high school called Consumer Economics. All I learned from it was how to properly make out…

Creating Healthy Boundaries

The first half of this year I focused on teaching you to connect with yourself, your intuitive self and your Higher Self.  My focus for the rest of the year will be about maintaining your health by having healthy relationships with others.  Emotional situations that are not resolved can create health issues.

Here is an example of how avoiding dealing with a situation can create illness. Janice is a woman in her…
