Advice for families in financial crisis?

I have a growing number of people in my network who have lost their jobs or are in danger of. A loss in wages has caused many to invest less and even cash out on previous investments. Some associates are feeling the pressure to use their savings and 401K money to cover their shortages. Others are falling into a trench of debt to make up for a loss in income.

Is there anyone out there who can counsel a family in crisis? If you feel qualified to help families in need and provide a… Continue

Looking for the Big Government Contract?

I have to smile when I hear it – again - on the news. The government is stimulating the economy by adding dollars to fund shovel ready projects. However, they have been stimulating the economy all along by purchasing from businesses just like yours.

Plugging into these dollars requires the same things as last year. Educate yourself!

PS (pre-Stimulus), the government purchased over $600 billion in goods and services annually. Eastern… Continue

Check out this On-line Speed Networking event to see how it can benefit your business!

Hello my Launchpad friends! I’ve been going to networking events recently that have really helped me out a lot. The great thing is, I don’t even have to leave my house to go! I’ve been attending these events and meeting great people on BlitzTime.

And when I say “meeting” I don’t mean “friending” or “linking” or “texting” or “writing on each others’ wall”. I mean actually have a real, live, private, person-to-person conversation with them. Meeting – like you would do at a coffee shop… Continue

Are more strangers smiling at you lately?

I was walking into the Spokane Club last Monday, and I saw Tom Reese come around the corner. I smiled and said hello to him. After all, I had just read about his new firm and the opening of his new office in Spokane, here on Launchpad. We also have several shared colleagues in planning and real estate circles.

As we passed, Tom said hello but with a quizzical expression, and I could tell he had not a clue who I was. It took a second, then I remembered... We hadn't *actually* met in… Continue

What fun, I thought. And it was.

Exactly what I needed with my marriage falling down in turmoil all about me. It had been 14 long years, and things were not getting better.

Tips for Trips - Packing for the perfect trip

I am going on a little trip to San Diego soon, and I was considering what I should bring with me. Of course packing the best "beach ware" is important, what clothes to wear, what jewelry to bring etc. is critical, but far be it for me to advise on that!

What I do know is that choosing what in your massive skin care/cosmetic regime to bring on a trip can be daunting. A lot of us are tempted to just throw it all in the bag and hope it fits (especially if you are a product junkie)! I… Continue

What Types of Warnings Does Your Business Want?

Everyone---

I'd like to share a dilemma that just ran across my desk. This morning, we received warning that there is a new Michael Jackson SPAM going around that contains the subject "Remembering Michael Jackson," with the attachment "Michael songs and pictures.zip". that if you open any attachment, etc. it will infect your computer.

OKAY---well, I am sure that many people are already getting royally burned out about many things to do with Michael Jackson, period, and… Continue

General colin Powell's Rules to Live By

A good friend of mine share this with me – I put a couple of my thoughts in parenthesis)

The rare individual:

1. It ain't as bad as you think. It will look better in the morning.

2. Get mad; then get over it. (build a bridge & get over it)

3. Avoid having your ego so close to your position that when your position falls, your ego goes with it.

4. It can be done! (Now JUST DO IT!)

5. Be careful what you choose (be careful what you ask for) You may get… Continue
