HDR in Portraiture- Spokane Commercial Photography

High Dynamic Range ("HDR") is seen most often in pictures of Landscape or Urban Scenery. HDR is also an option for striking portraits in both rural and urban environments. A couple weeks ago I went out to collect some test shots with a friend (Doyle Wheeler of KinetekMedia) and I posted one of the examples on my website-

Can Election Scammers Count on Your Support?

It’s definitely the season for political ads. One of my friends received 16 pieces of mail from a local candidate—who apparently doesn’t realize she’s not in his district. Another problem: Scam calls asking if they can count on your financial support.

First, local news sources in southern Idaho are reporting that a Mitt Romney supporter received a bogus call asking her to “help…

Watch out for Comcast!

Whoa! I just found out my Comcast email account was hacked in April. I don't use it much and it was connected to my Outlook program so I didn't notice it. I was not able to get into my account at all. There were no messages there for me other than the one saying it was suspended and a link to fix it. I know there are messages, but I can't access them.

I went in directly through the Comcast url to get to my email and so this is alarming. The message of course had mispelled words so I…

Spokane Commercial Photography- Construction & Lens Flares

Today I posted about Lens Flares in my website using pictures from a construction site. Each year I spend some time inspecting public works projects which allows access to unique photo opportunities. Incorporating lens flares into photos is a fun technical challenge for me. It's always interesting to see the shape and intensity of a flare once you have the sun and lens working together-…

MARRIAGE VS CIVIL UNION:

MARRIAGE VS CIVIL UNION: by Ed Davis PLS

For me as a “practicing Christian” the only “rub” is in the name (every pun intended). Heck, even by patent laws if you build a Volkswagen you can’t call it a Toyota. The word “Marriage” is very specific.  The correct word is Civil Union and I do believe all qualifying citizens should have the right and responsibilities of the Constitution, IRS Laws and love and civility from their neighbors. I think the…

A FREEBIE FOR FLORISTS!

I was hired recently to write and produce a radio spot encouraging the listener wanting to send flowers to do business with a local florist in the recipient’s neighborhood, rather than going through one of the 800-number services.

The client, who operates a small family flower shop in Pullman, feels strongly that a customer is better served by dealing directly with the florist, as opposed to relying upon a middleman to place the order.

By going directly to…
