Took a walk with our dog to Manito Park today. I was surprised by the amount of snow on the ground  in the Lilac Garden

Real Estate- Spokane Commercial Photography

There are a lot of nice homes on the market right now! For a few months now I've been hearing that we've established a "bottom" where there are competing bids for homes, something that hasn't happened much the last couple years. Up at the top end, though, it's still a good opportunity for those who want to move up a notch or two in the home market. Here is a home on Broken Lance south of Liberty Lake that I shot through Kent…See More

Explaining HDR- Spokane Commercial Photography

See it to believe it- Kent Henderson PhotographyI find myself trying to explain HDR- High Dynamic Range- photography to friends and clients every week, but you have to see the effect to really understand it. I have a quick preview on my website, just a single before & after example. I'm going to research this a little more from my recent Real Estate photo shoots and, next week, set up a blog post with several examples-…See More

Home with a View- Spokane Commercial Photography

When I'm called to shoot a Real Estate listing (Kent Henderson Photography) it's interesting to see where we end up at. Recently I traveled up to Chattaroy to meet Seth Maefsky at a 10 acre listing with a view of the mountains north of Tum Tum to the west of the property. Here is a link to a few of the pictures- listing postTake a look, you might be…See More

Ohme Gardens in Wenatchee- Spokane Commercial Photography

Ohme Gardens is a great place to spend a couple hours out in nature and just relaxing with all the green goodness they could squeeze into a nine acre hillside! By next year I'll have enough pictures to create a calendar based on this one garden. In the meantime just a couple teaser pics in this blog post on my Kent Henderson Photography website-…See More

HDR in Portraiture- Spokane Commercial Photography

High Dynamic Range ("HDR") is seen most often in pictures of Landscape or Urban Scenery. HDR is also an option for striking portraits in both rural and urban environments. A couple weeks ago I went out to collect some test shots with a friend (Doyle Wheeler of KinetekMedia) and I posted one of the examples on my website-HDR PortraitsKent Henderson…See More

Spokane Commercial Photography- Construction & Lens Flares

Today I posted about Lens Flares in my website using pictures from a construction site. Each year I spend some time inspecting public works projects which allows access to unique photo opportunities. Incorporating lens flares into photos is a fun technical challenge for me. It's always interesting to see the shape and intensity of a flare once you have the sun and lens working together-…See More

Spokane Photography- better days ahead!

So today is a little gray and dreary. A couple weeks ago I snapped a shot of Riverfront Park with my phone on a better day- here's a link to my blog post with the picture- feel free to download and use the shot for your computer screen. I'm pretty sure you will still feel the Vitamin D oozing from your monitor!Sunny DaySee More

Spring in Spokane- Spokane Commercial Photography

I'm sitting here in my office at LaunchPad's 3rd floor, 1889 Building location, smelling the fresh, spring air and looking at a nice blue sky with white puffy clouds! Awesome! This is so much better than dingy gray skies and Vitamin D deficiency. I posted an entry on my website about a photo that represents the hope of spring-Morning View- Life RenewsSee More

A little about me...

Most of my technical career was in Asphalt & Paving Technology as a lab technician, inspector and consultant. For the last four years I have been self-employed as an "eyes & ears" Engineering Inspector. Transition to photography: I began to incorporate photography into my consulting trips about six years ago. Capturing landscape and still life on my travels. I shot some prep sports one year mainly for the experience. And two years of Whitworth soccer with my DSLR. (Our son played there '04-'07). Now I am shooting finished construction and real estate listings for the commercial side. Also selling art & decor prints and shoot on-site portraiture.

Yeah, kinda tough getting used to, figuring out following the message threads!  I do have time to meet up.  I am teaching Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, so Tuesdays and Thursdays are open.  Would be fun to see what new projects you have been working on!  I'm out in the Nine Mile area, but head into town quite frequently, so that's not a big deal..
