LP Leadership Minute: The Power of Connection

Posted on December 25, 2009 at 5:00pm 8 Comments

An amazing thing happened in the last week, when a group of people connected originally mostly by virtual means, came together with a common purpose and infectious energy to help people less fortunate than they to have a better Christmas. Proving that the power of human connection is indelibly strong, especially when aided by technology and deepened by warm personal interaction. And that a simple approach, guided by a caring spirit and a willingness to share can be more effective than the… Continue

LP Leadership Minute- Using Your Lifelines

Posted on May 22, 2009 at 7:05am 0 Comments

Resourcefulness is a key attribute for navigating challenge and change. In the movie Slumdog Millionaire the characters survive through quick wits and a scrappy determination to overcome any challenge, coupled with compassion for others and lasting friendships. During the game show scenes, I was reminded of the concept of using your “lifelines” when you are stumped. As you may recall from Who Wants To Be a Millionaire, they are:

Hi Diane,

We missed you last night!  There were many more volunteers and lots more wrappers, but I was so thankful to have you step up last year and take that on.  It was much the same energy last night...we tried to be a little organized, then the energy took over and before I knew it, gifts were wrapped and set aside in organizational fashion, men, women and youth.   Hope to see you Christmas eve, but if not, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.  Blessings for 2011~

It was awesome seeing you yesterday and I meant to tell you how many times I've referred to your post about the Power of Connection blog you wrote - what an example of how God worked through this social media site and group - I pray for more miraculous works to come from our Prayer Community. The shoebox ministry was our family Christmas and turned the corner for our family to be in God's favor = thank you!
