Local Businesses Shopping Local?

http://http://roasthouse.net/2010/11/22/black-friday-local-shopping-challenge/ Everyone talks about shopping local. We all know the benefits -more of each dollar spent stays in our community, local owners (our neighbors) hire other locals, pay taxes and support community events. But how many local businesses are buying local?  We recently used a locally owned print shop to do some work…See More

Coffee Q & A Videos by Petrushka for Roast House

This lady is over the top freaken creative! She nailed the need to share specifics about sustainable coffees on a broader base, then just the few moments we usually have with end users. She spent a day with Dave and me and some of our friends  shooting footage as we sat around drinking coffee and beer, eating pizza (thank you David's Pizza) talking coffee. She created a series of 10 coffee Q&A videos. In each she's brought rocken visual and sound components into the mix that are over the top…See More

423 is actually my favorite blend... espcially for a gift or the coffee i choose to intro someone to your coffee profiles.  It's such a wonderful in between everything...gee what kind of review is that!  It's just that it suits so many people.  not too bold not to non descript.

Yes, thank YOU, it is a very Good Morning over here... did you ever read the book: Silent Spring by Rachel Carson? It is a seminal treatment of the issue surrounding what I call chemical warfare of the planet... the whole pesticide thing... the war than only nature can win in her own way... well, on certain mornings...such as today...when the neighbourhood fledgling choir strikes up... I think of how grateful I am for those darling little singers...and right on the heels of it, I think how good it is that folks like you choose to do the right thing, by taking the loss, wherever it is and promoting the good by encouraging a chemical free product. Life if good... the birds are singing. luv, mizzpea

I see you're launchpadding today... My wife told me to get up to date more often. Too bad I missed the coffee blend taste test. Just this morning I mixed a batch for ice coffee concentrate. It's sitting on the counter as we type, ready to filter by tonight.

Actually the blend '423' is my favourite so far... have you ever tasted Jamaican Blue Mountain? Your 423 is as close to that as I have ever tasted... Kenya Peaberry is another one that is close in that simple complexity, if you know what i mean. When I lived in London, I wrote food reviews and feature articles...one of my prize one's was a two page spread on coffee and that is how i came in contact with JBM.... at that time it was nearly $40 per pound and worth every penny... all i can say is thank goodness that i knew one of the plantation owners from Jamaica because I never would have been able to afford that brand! But to find something so close to that superb blend in Spokane... that is nothing short of shocking... and I mean it!!

You and Dave are doing a wonderful job at selecting and roasting coffee... I wish more people here were aware of what you're offering. Talk later.... mizzpea oh, as to your comment on folks getting confused about 423 as address and blend name... are you old enough or hip enough to remember the jazz tune "Pennsyvania 6-5000" it was a Glen Miller hit from the 'Swing Era in Jazz'... hummn, maybe we should come up with a ditty... "java-java jing-jing 423' well.... it's early...maybe i should go and drink some coffee !!??
