Hey, I'm new to this community, and new to LaunchPad. It looks like a great networking site. I'm looking for some part time help with my business. Nothing too technical, but an MS Access programmer would be great right about now. I have 2 small projects that I am unable to get to! Let me know if you're interested!

Hi there. Happy to join this group. www.StrengthsMapper.com is my second venture into software development and marketing. It is combining mind mapping and Strengths Based leadership and management into a software bundle. We launched June 13th, and are steadily building clientelle. So far, we have been visited by almost 90 countries and have sales in 12 countries on 4 continents. It has been a fun collaboration in a virtual software / web site / marketing team in Spokane, Quebec, Toronto and The Ukraine. Looking forward to networking with all of you for 'how to' tips and ideas. My day job is Director of Engineering Services for the City of Spokane and am having a ball with a nifty group of professionals there, as well. Have a great holiday season.

Love my Macbook!
Comment by Bill Kalivas on November 4, 2009 at 8:45pm
Thanks for the great input, I was pleasantly suprised by all feedback.

FYI, I have decided to use the MacBook I purchased a couple of years for another venture I started, needs more memory but as a start-up capital is king so I will live with it until we can purchase a new laptop. (Sorry honey, I need to borrow your laptop for awhile:)

I must say I am most intrigued with the ASUS product and will be researching it more for when I decide to buy, thanks again everyone!

If your like me and only going to have it for what seems to be the average life expectany for a player in the NFL... 2-3 years before you upgrade to the next latest technology... I would wait for the next HOT deal at Best Buy it is usally once every 30-60 days and you will be able to pick up a great laptop with everything you would possibly need along with the latest office bundle and a 2 year warranty for under $798 it will probably even have a 1-2 gig dedicated video memory. They usually have limited supplies, but it's not hard to have them check stock at the other store locations and purchase it right there on the spot. I have done this for a few years now and in the past 6 months I have picked up a Toshiba, HP and a Gateway laptop for my family and havent had one issue yet. Even the teenager who loves World of Warcraft has yet to complain. "Amazing" So, It might be a Toshiba, Gateway, HP, ASUS, Sony.... Really you cant go wrong...in two years it becomes the house or childrens hand me down computer and you upgrade for twice the laptop at the same price once again and they will probably even throw in a "FREE" Wii on top of that. I do highly recommend the dedicated Video memory which ever way you go....
