If and when you do plan a workshop, please let me know.
Permalink Reply by Jeff Sebring on January 15, 2011 at 10:33pm The community has grown a bit, so perhaps I'll do so in the next few months after I get a couple monkeys off my back.
Be assured that I'll be letting everyone know.

There's a Word Camp in Seattle tomorrow. I'm not going, but it will be Live Streamed. If anyone wants to watch it together, my apt complex has a room we could meet in.

Do people actually hire people to make WordPress sites in Spokane? That would be interesting. The company I was working for had me revamp their site and I used WordPress as an experiment, it looked fairly decent... Now that I'm gone of course someone has attempted to update the site and broken every page. So much for my portfolio.
Still, I'd love to attend a WordPress workshop, I've got a couple of sites I'm preparing to roll out soon and it would be nice to be up to date on that.
Permalink Reply by Jeff Sebring on June 19, 2011 at 6:47pm @Michael I don't think most business owners know to ask for WordPress, but there are many people using it as a content management system. I've found that I can get most things done very easily with it, though I have reached some limits in more custom websites.
I think for 90% of websites, WordPress is a perfect solution. For more custom web applications, Ruby on Rails is what I am focusing on learning right now for my own apps.
I'm curious what topics people might want to learn about in a workshop. I think I would like start planning this.
A few different focus areas based on users -
WordPress for Website Owners
WordPress for Designers
WordPress for Developers
Areas people might want to learn about -
Themes
Plugins
Performance
SEO
Security
