Nation wide test of EAS system on 9 November, 2 PM (EST). This will likely cause confusion, as broadcasting and perhaps other systems will be disrupted, so be prepared. More info on FCC's website at ww.fcc.gov. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will conduct the first-ever nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS). The purpose of the test is to assess the reliability and effectiveness of the EAS as a way to alert the public of national emergencies.

It's always great to see new event technology coming out. New technology really changes the way people perceive a company giving the presentation and when done right it can really blow away a company. Will you guys be coming down to the Orlando area anytime soon?

Looking for entry level tech employees?

I am one of the new Career Services Specialists at Interface College, and I am contacting you today because I may be able to help you find the right person for any openings you may have now or in the future.

Here at Interface College, we teach practical up-to-date skills.  Many students in our Technical/Computer Skills area are qualified and ready to work in the following areas:

  • Hardware and Software Installations
  • Hardware and Software, Diagnostics and Troubleshooting, and Computer Repair
  • Operating Systems, software installation, Desk Top Support
  • Network, Support, Administration, and Securities
  • Customer Service, Support Desk, and Help Desk
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

Many of our students have or are in the process of obtaining their A+ and Network+ Certifications through Compu TIA and/or Microsoft Network Administration Certifications.

I am not asking you to hire any of our graduates, but rather, (since you may have an opening), consider talking to one or two of our graduates.  Or giving them the opportunity of practice interviewing would be greatly appreciated.

If you are interested in talking to one of our graduates, or just want more information, feel free to contact me personally at (509) 467-1727, (509) 868-9875, or karen@interface.edu.

Larry,

Good suggestion.  Depends on what the intent is...to be able to directly replace select items...or to ensure adequate monetary reimbursement from your homeowners coverage.

In my experience, it is easiest to make sure you have adequate monetary coverage, since that's the maximum amount the insurer will pay out anyway.  Often set by default as a percentage value of the structure itself, you can inexpensively increase the insured value.

In our case, we have special riders for a number of things, such as cell phones.  If you have a smart phone (e.g. iPhone), you can insure it against loss/damage for as little as $12-18 for the year.

Cheers
