True, and store up to 1Gb for free. Additional storage can be purchased if you need more than 1GB of space. Once you start purchasing extra storage it evens out - a year for Datarang Personal Unlimited is $50, and a year for Google Docs is $50 but is limited to 200GB (which is a reasonable size for a personal PC).

Or you can backup for free with Google docs

Or you can back up locally unlimited for $50/year with Datarang:

It's automatic and easy to use.

Thanks for the information Larry. I will check this out. I have not had the problem, but apparently the document I sent to my editor messed up her Mac and it froze. This is my book so I really have to clean it up!

You can check this out from Microsoft  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/285393

I would like also recommend this online backup due to keeping 50 versions of the same file then it is easy to recover from a corrupted filed.  http://www.idrive.com/?p=advancedpcsolutions

Anyone know how to restore a corrupt document? It is a word doc in Mac Word 2011.
