I love these ideas, especially the walks and wine-tasting!   It would be great to put together a team for Cancer Patient Care's Loreen Miller Bike Ride and Walk of Hope.  All the money raised stays right here in our area and helps cancer patients and their families and caregivers as they are going through the battle!  Visit www.cancerpatientcare.org for more info.

I like the idea of doing something Fun to celebrate the 50. I want to embrace it! I also like the idea of doing something for local charities!

This is interesting - I am turning 50 this year was looking for an idea to start an Almost 50's club, or see how many out here want to get together and just plain celebrate the big Five-0 by doing something fun - Not sure cave diving will be on the list until I see the latest Cameron movie, a tropical weekend sounds fun, but may be out of the financial realm for some, not everyone has a hog, so Sturgis may not be possible.

So maybe something closer to home where we could have some fun And maybe contribute back to the community?

How about we rustle up a BBQ or Burger challenge for spring, invite the Local wineries to do a tasting with us, get a few local musicians to play, we do a cookoff, have fun, charge a few bucks and send all proceeds to local charities...

Any takers?

Sounds like a good idea. What are the dates? I need to learn how to plan a "Walk" event. I want to plan one in Spokane for EB Awareness week - on Oct 29th. I am currently going to the "Y" each day to try to get into shape.

Teresa and others, I want to walk the seattle 3 day breast cancer in Seattle in Sept.  if you want to get in shape that is a great one.  Any interest in starting a team?

I am a baby boomer, and as I was reaching 50 I didn't want to look old or feel old. (Really, I just didn't want to look old) I found something to slow down and reverse my aging, and now at almost 52 I skip out of my house and feel confident that I don't have to look my age AND I didn't have to have surgery or painful treatments, AND I don't have those afternoon lulls, where I want to take a nap! I can't wait to meet like minded baby boomers that don't want to be old. :)
