Adding psychology to your sales efforts!

If you could get into the head of a prospect, what would that person think of you and your firm?

That's how simple it is to add psychology to your sales efforts.  But, if you're not using psychology in your sales, you're making a huge blunder.

M-L-M a rant / FYI

Multi level marketing was a hot topic for a while a couple of weeks ago.Part of the reason for the “hotness” of a thread started by Michael Lovas was the perception of the reputation of the industry as a whole and or the perception of how people associated with the industry conducted their business. It’s been suggested that MLM has a bad reputation because direct marketing consultants brow beat their friends and acquaintances to the point where they will cross the street rather than chance a…Continue

How to sell MLM

Started by Michael Lovas. Last reply by Michael Lovas Mar 6. 38 Replies

Every since the Sales Community started, I've been asked about how to sell in the MLM environment.  It's a valid question.  After all, MLM typically means selling a product to people.  It also means recruiting your customers to become your own sales force.  Thus, it's selling two things at once, and they're not always congruent. The most ethical type of selling requires that you build a relationship with the prospect.  If you're a hard-charging MLM sales person, you're probably damaging more…Continue

Is there any such thing as a "silver bullet?"

Started by Michael Lovas Sep 16, 2011. 0 Replies

As a sales professional, you probably want the best information going into a meeting.  That information probably includes insight into what the prospect wants and needs.  You want to know how he relates (emotionally) to your product or service.  But, my experience is, you rarely ever get that type of information.  I may have an actual silver bullet for you. My early career was with JCPenney as a marketing writer.  My wife Pam came up through Mobil.  We both participated in a LOT of focus…Continue

Is your marketing insane?

Started by Michael Lovas. Last reply by Pam Pyrc Sep 1, 2011. 3 Replies

Now that most vacations are over and kids are heading back to school, let's focus on you.  One of the services my firm offers is a psychological analysis of marketing.  We give it a 14-point analysis and report to you how you can make it work better for you.  Most people are amazed that they're making so many horrible mistakes in their marketing.  Websites, brochures, letters, ads - you name it.  About once per year, I offer to perform our analysis on one marketing piece for free.  Just my way…Continue

Psychology of Selling

Yipes!  It's been a while since I could conveniently post to LP.  Some kind of tech mismatch made it difficult.  I sure am glad "things" are working so much better. My most recent series of articles is published in several publications online and hard copy.  The series is titled:  "The Psychology of Selling - The First 8 Minutes."  The articles take you through the process of using psychology to connect with your prospect and build trust very quickly.  They are also based on a training program…Continue

Credibility Workshop for Spokane Professionals

Started by Michael Lovas. Last reply by Terry Canfield Mar 11, 2011. 16 Replies

Hello All: Yesterday, Pam and I delivered a 90-minute program on Business Credibility to the Marketing Associates of Spokane.  The content came from our research on what builds credibility for a professional and/or a business.  That information is the concept in our first book on credibility and the new one (which has not yet been released).  We’ve spend 20 years developing the information, processes and skills. Judging from yesterday’s response, I'd say the program was a big success.  So, I'd…Continue

Thought-leadership? How might you get that?

Started by Michael Lovas. Last reply by Terry Canfield Mar 7, 2011. 3 Replies

In our talks with mid-size firms across the US, we keep hearing them refer to "thought leadership."  They want to establish themselves as thought leaders.  My question to you is simple - define "thought leader."  Can't get it if there's any question about what it is, right? (Hint - this where everyone in marketing, PR and social media should perk up and voice an opinion.) -- Michael LovasContinue

I led a webinar a few weeks ago.  The focus was the psychological mistakes most websites make.  One of the most common mistakes I see is sites that believe they should be making a sales pitch.  Curious - does your site seek to make a sale from that first visit, or are you looking to achieve something else?

Mike,

I am in the process of becoming more familiar with the technology available for cross pollinating that quality content.  The platform I'm using is called squarberry and they have a good overview on their website at squareberry.com.  It allows easier coordination all four components you mentioned... Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and blogging.

Mike, In this case the "eyes" do not have it.  Much better to see the whole you!  Very likeable!

Those of you who read my work might notice that you're seeing my face for the firsts time.  Until now, all you've seen is one big eye.  But, we recently had new photos taken, so I thought I'd give you peek.

I am looking to speak with sales reps who are currently in the medical supply or pharmaceutical sales arena.  Even if you are not currently seeking and opportunity I would appreciate an opportunity to network with you. You may lead me to just the person I am seeking.

If you are not currently in med/pharm but know someone who is, please consider contacting me with their name and number or pass my information onto them.

I have a sales position with and industry leading dental supply manufacturer. My clients first choice is to identify a candidate with med/pharm or dental industry experience.  I will also consider a business to business sales person with a stable, successful track record.  Four year degree is mandatory.

This position will have a base salary of $60-65K and will produce commissions taking the first year to low to mid $80’s for a person who just meets expectations. First year would be higher for a person who ramps up quickly and exceeds their goal.  This territory should easily produce six figures after a couple of years.

Full benes also included.

I know the hiring manager, he is seeking an aggressive, professional sales person who will take ownership of the territory.  He will be there to support you while ramping up then let you work very autonomously as long as you’re bringing home the number.

Please reply ASAP with a copy of your resume for consideration. pat@prosearchnational.com  or phone me direct if you know of anyone I should be talking to.

Thank you.
