Stacey, wow, thank you for sharing that! I feel like it "lit upon my shoulder" like a butterfly when I least expected it, but filled me with joy and gratitude in a very moving way. I just emailed it to my mom too.

Mothers and Daughters - my thoughts about this relationship

I know we are all busy with our lives and work and surviving in the professional arena but in amongst all of this do you ever stop and think about your mom and your relationship with her? I bring this up because my friend of twenty five years lost her mom on Friday. Loosing your mom is hard, regardless of what your relationship has been over the years. I know because I lost my mom in 1990 and we had had our own trials and tibulations thoughout my childhood and young adulthood. All we can hope for is that we try to do the right things and in the end be at peace with our relationships withour mothers - I know for me the thing that mattered was knowing that I made my mom proud of me.

My girlfriend, Kathy had a rocky relationship when she was younger but then was probably one of the best daughter's one could be. She lived next door, helped her mom and dad out, was there for her for the past fifteen years or so. Yes, sometimes she griped about having to go see mom and hang out for a while, but she did it and really didn't mind and was always glad she had that time with her.

Kay Hopkins was a wonderful lady. She has been a part of my life for the past twenty years or so. To my daughter Rebecca, she was "Grandma Kay". I still remember the pink piggy bank she gave me for Rebecca at my baby shower - and Becca still has it today.

She was involved in her church, her community and nothing mattered mored to her than her family. Sons, daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren all gathered on Friday to be with her as she passed on. She probably couldn't have been a prouder mom, grandmom, greatgrandmom and wife. Her family was there by her side in her final moments.

Kathy will miss her mom - treasure the memories and hold her close to her heart knowing that there is nothing like a bond between a mother and a daughter - and it trancends all other relationships we have throughout life.

So take a moment and if your mom is still with you, give her a call just to say hi and if she is not with you anymore just take a moment to stop and remember and pay tribute to her. She is the one that always loved you unconditionally from the moment she knew she was pregnant, was there for you no matter what or how bad it was, thought you were beautiful even when you you thought you weren't and helped to shape who you are today.

Don't wait for Mother's Day to pay tribute to your mom. Honor her everyday in whatever way works for you. My wish for the day is that every daughter takes a moment to honor her mother today - even if for just a moment.

I'm happy to be a new member of this community. As a "new kid" in Spokane both personally and professionally it's nice to know there is such a great networking tool available.

I'm looking forward to meeting other women business owners. I'm a professional organizer. I assist clients in their home or office with what ever organizing needs they have. From taming paperwork clutter to cleaning out closets, pantrys or garages. I also give seminars to help others learn how to stay organized. My other business is as an Arbonne consultant. I love to help men and women with their skin care needs. Check out my websites at http://tandiorgnization.com and www.Kimsskincare.myarbonne.com
