Another great suggestion.  First Aid For A Wounded Business by Kevin Weir.  Hey, it's another shameless plug, but just like you said Candess, if I don't let you know, you all might miss out on a good read.

Thomas, if you don't let us know, we could miss a good read! Thanks for sharing this.

My suggestion is simple, Justice Rules by Thomas White. Shameless plug, I know but if I don't do it, who will? Thanks.

One suggestion that was given to me about getting readers to critic your book and even to review is to ask people what chapter they would like to read. It is much easier to read a chapter (especially when emailed) than the whole book. They they can review a part of the book, "I especially like . . ."

That is a great idea Karen. I just bought Back of the Boat Gourmet Cooking by Bonnie Clark after meeting her at the Launchpad Professional Woman's Event. I went to Auntie's to pick up the book for my friend who will be leaving to spend 3 months on her boat in Guatemala in mid December. This book and a bottle of wine make the perfect gift!

I think it would be great if Spokane authors and enthusiasts for local writers'publications would recommend books that we have read for the holidays.  If you have read a book by a local author say someone like Sherry Jones or Glenda Burgess or others that you think is a good read, how about posting your recommendations on LaunchPad, Facebook or encouraging your book group, church ladies or whoever to support local authors.  There are so many good books!  There are also possibilities for us to encourage the local bookstores that encourage writers through readings and promotion in the same way.  Auntie's, Tin Man and others are good friends to local writers.  A little pollyanna perhaps but helpful to the field!!

Just sent my manuscript for the initial formatting. Have two chapters to re-write and off to the editor!

I recently bought a kindle book from someone that contacted me through FB. I like to support other authors and I have seen this person post often. The book was about health and I was interested. When I began reading though I was really distracted because the formatting was not justified. It was an odd experience and really annoyed me. Makes me want to be really careful when I format my book for the kindle. A caution to all.

It is great to see you support your friend Heather. I like to do that with other author friends as well! I'll check out her book.
