I wish I had done...networking beyond my current circle. When I started, I found it easier to hire/contract people I knew - which was friends and family - and those situations always end up costing more (time or money) in the end. If I had initially expanded my circle to professional networks, I could have still hired people I "knew" and kept the business out of my personal circle of friends/family.

My first venture I remember thinking from the beginning you had to spend money to make money. That is so not true.   Well if you consider your time as money, which it is but it doesn't spend the same, you might feel this way.  Time working on my business not in my business is one of the best lessons I have learned and it doesn't necessarily take the green bucks to make it happen.
