Comment by Karen Mobley on August 9, 2012 at 3:28pm Now it’s time to send in your application for the October Visual Arts Tour! Please mark your calendar for Friday, October 5, and Saturday, October 6, 2012. The tour is from 5:00-9:00 p.m. on Friday. The public appreciates added hours on Saturday, if possible. Registration forms will be available online at www.spokanearts.org and at www.downtownspokane.net and paper forms will be at Spokane Art Supply, Chase Gallery, and Pottery Place Plus.
Please keep up the good work with your 80 word descriptive paragraph for publicity purposes (substance and detail in describing the artwork on exhibit). The deadline is Friday, August 31, 2012.
We invite participation from all local galleries—non-profit and for-profit—and we encourage open studios, alternative spaces and business participation in the October Visual Arts Tour. We would be glad to help businesses find artists and give artists resources to find places to show their work. Just give a call to Tammy Pruitt at 456-0580 ext. 102 or email her at tpruitt@downtownspokane.net. For all other questions, please call Craig Marshall at Spokane Art Supply (327-6622) or email him at craigm@myartsupply.com.
Registration, accompanied by a check for $35.00, is due to Spokane Art Supply by Friday, August 31, at 5:00pm. Late registrations not accepted. Use the attached PDF document. You can mail in your check and registration form or you can deliver them in person to Spokane Art Supply, 1303 N. Monroe St., Spokane, WA 99201. We will use the registration fee to pay for printing, advertising and other expenses to promote and hold the event. Press releases and images will be sent to selected media contacts. Once again, the Inlander will be a chief sponsor, producing the tour map and program. We invite and encourage you to place an ad in the Inlander section at a discount rate, call Carolyn at 325-0638, ext. 214.
It is essential that you send in your registration by the deadline. The press release for this event is a volunteer effort, and we need your cooperation to get information put together and sent out to the media in time to meet their deadlines.
Comment by Jeremy Noble on July 4, 2012 at 10:45am To all group members: I have noticed many of you searching for a place to play, things you need, things you would like to see, etc. Please visit us at http://musiciansnw.com. MNW is a hub for musicians and music related businesses to create professional networks. We have hundreds of NW musicians, concert venues and other music related businesses as members. Many of them are from Spokane as MNW is based here. Membership is completely free. I hope to see you there!
Jeremy
I know the local music scene from the inside as the drummer for a long-time area band named Loose Cannon. Like most musicians, we love playing in public, and have played lots of park concerts, blues festivals and club dates. The group wants to focus on corporate events. However, there seems not to be many event planners in the area. If you know of any, would you please point me in the right direction?
BTW, our band is playing a concert in the Deer Park Concert Series this Saturday (July 7). We'll do mainly rhythm & blues and have a full horn section. Very cool.
Thanks!
Mike
