Last Friday WSU & UW announced we've formalized an agreement about adding the second year of medical education to WWAMI Spokane, making all 4 years of med school available here: http://bit.ly/LP2yr032712

This is a first: The second year of medical school has been in Seattle for students from all 5 states in the WWAMI region (Washington-Wyoming-Alaska-Montana-Idaho) since the establishment of the multi-state system 40 years ago, with WSU Pullman as a founding partner.

The establishment of the first-year WWAMI Spokane cohort at WSU Spokane in 2008 has been a resounding success: More students requesting clinical clerkships in Spokane for their third and fourth years of med school, more students applying for residencies here. This spring that first cohort graduates from medical school and goes into their residencies (where they learn their particular specialty). How great to mark that special occasion with this special announcement!
