What now? The BBB in partnership with the founders of LauchPad want to get the skills and tools into the hands of small business to use social marketing to build realationships and grow customer bases. So, as small business people I would love to hear from you on-
1. How do we best deliver that training?
2. Would a hands on small format workshop be attractive?
3. How much time could you carve out of your day for a session?
4. Are mornings better? Afternoons?
5. How would you feel about businesses in the same industry sitting in the same session with you?

I would love to see more social networking workshops available. My preference is 1-2 hour workshops in the morning. Two topics of interest to me would be "Speednetworking" and "Etiquette of Social Networking",
Thank you Patti!
Hi Jan -

I agree that expansion of skills is key to using this tool. I believe the workshop format is best so you can trade what's working, as well as points of confusion, and have an expert handy to clear it all up. A couple hours would seem fine and mid-afternoons or Saturday morning could work for me. As to the same biz, it's been my experience that how any training is used will vary by participant and, since this all about relationships anyway, it shouldn't matter much.

Thank you very much for sponsoring and your question. Look forward to hearing more!
Great feedback!
I've been using Facebook and Twitter since last summer, and it has been fun, rewarding (sales, marketing and networking) and a huge learning curve! A small format workshop sounds attractive, a few hours any time of the day. I've found my industry (outdoor recreation) to be quite open to working together to improve our industry as a whole.
I agree with Patti about the "Etiquette of Social Networking" topic. We could learn a lot in an hour in a small workshop setting although it could also be delivered as an interactive webinar. Late afternoons work best for me.

Thanks for asking!
Thank you for opening this question working through, what I am sure will be, many responses. I think that the workshop or seminar format in a small to mediium group works best. Not only are we learning something new, most times we are meeting someone new face to face. There still is really no substitute for that to build relationships. I also have not really seen results from "one minute networking", but rather with a network time set aside before or after a workshop. Mornings work best, something like this is worth making time for. I feel that a work shop needs to be at least an hour, and probably two to be effective. I also have no issue with someone in the same field being in the same session, I usually learn something new from them also. There are also many times when we can actually compliment each others business and didn't realize it.
I also like the smaller workshops with the 1-2 hour limit.
