Proposal for Spokane: Washington Tech - Spokane's own Research University
How about this: While WSU and EWU are great for Spokane, they are the branch campuses of Universities located 80 and 20 miles (respectively) from Spokane. How about converting the facilities at EWU and WSU Spokane into WASHINGTON TECH. Spokane's own true Research University - complete with a medical school, nursing school and world class graduate programs. This of course would be political - but it's in our best interest to promote programs that draw brilliance to Spokane - it's an economic driver and a long term addition to Spokane that will help stimulate our economy in a sustainable way. We cannot reach our potential with branch campuses.
