I am a Vietnam and Desert Storm Era Veteran serving on the committees of WA State Women Veterans Advisory and chair of their Marketing/Fundraiser sub-committee.

I also am the moderator of the Veteran's community here, on Launchpad.

My long term goal is to facilitate aligning of veteran organizations (official and grassroots) to empower the Veterans of Spokane County and neighbors the resources needed to address service connected difficulties and launch a grassroots Business Training/Resource Center for the Veterans and Low income individuals.

It is a lofty goal, however, I believe with enough resources gathered, Spokane has the generosity and full capability of launching a center we can all be proud of having in our community.

I am not paid for this effort, though, I am seeking resources of funds for costs to attend pertinent State, Regional, and National Conferences to investigate and implement as many positive programs as possible in the Spokane area.

One of the first goals is to target Spokane for the east WA Women Veteran's Summit targeted for October. The WA State Women Veterans Advisory Committee had their first summit in King County last year.

In seeking affordable venues for the veterans, the suggestion was just made in a sub-committee meeting that we might have it split between the East and West side of the state.

I would like to see Spokane rise to the need and proudly serve those who have served all.

The process of planning the conference is in progress and I need to let them know on the 22nd if we believe we can do it. If you have connections that can help us make this happen in Spokane, then please contact me as soon as possible.
